MAS VILLAGE is a village about six km south of Ubud, Bali, Indonesia – known for their woodcarvings. Mas is the home of the renowned Nyana & Tilem Gallery. The area also is the birthplace of the famous Mask Carver Ida Bagus Sutarja (25 November 1934 – 2 January 2002). His wife, ‘Ida Ayu Madri Yadnya Swari Dewi’ and offspring, respected artists in their own right, still produce unique artwork in the I.B. Sutarja – Mask Carver- Gallery.
CELUK VILLAGE is formerly as a traditional Balinese village located in the entrance gate of Gianyar Regency ad has changed into a tourist attraction with its trademark in the form of gold and silver. The village located in Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency has the uniqueness and excellent in production of gold and silver handicrafts. Almost all the families and villagers are Balinese who professional, skilled and art soul to develop the creative design and variety of products related to the gold and silvers.
Ubud Art Market or also known as Pasar Seni Ubud is a traditional market that is located in the heart of Ubud, opposite of the Puri Saren Royal Ubud. This place offers many attractive souvenirs made by local Balinese such as handmade bags, statues, kites, silk scarves, and many other handcraft goods. You can find two markets here,1 side for traditional art market and another side for traditional and basic market requirement.
The Batuan temple is considered as the oldest temple in Bali Island. This temple was designed with Balinese ornaments and the roof was made from the fiber of the coconut tree with black color. The temple location is strategic, which is on the side of the main road that connected Denpasar to Ubud. For over than a thousand of year, Batuan has transformed into the artist and craftsmen village, old legend, and also mysterious stories.
